Fiat Seiceto - cheap and cheerfull (Fiat Seicento S 3dr)
Member Name: l500589
Advantages: cheap to buy, insure, maintain, and run Disadvantages: very small car, struggles up hills when more than 2 people in
My Wife (girlfriend at the time), had a new one of these at the age of 17 in order to learn her driving skills in. The car was £4500 new, and very low insurance, so it is ideal for new drivers to learn in. She found it very easy to drive in, nice light steering, good visibility, and very easy to manouver due the tiny size of the car, and ended up taking her test in the car, and passing no problems. From that day on, she kept the car for over 4 years, and was very pleased with it, and sorry to see it go. It never gave her any problems, and parts were easy to get hold of, and very cheap. We did quite a few long journeys in it also, and it was always very surprising when on the motorways. Even though it was only a 1.0L engine, with 4 gears, it could easily hold its own, and I remember looking down at the speedometer when on the motorway once, travelling home from blackpool with 4 of us in the car, and was amazed to see that I was doing 90mph! Having said that it did always struggle to get up steep hills when there wre 2 or more of us in it. Summary: Ideal for new drivers
