Disadvantages: Not good for rear seat passengers, only a small boot
I bought my 2000 Reg Fiat Seicento SX last December (2010) with only 20k on the clock, full service history, tax and MOT for £600 and it's probably the best buy I've ever had! I was originally looking at Fiestas, Corsas and Peugeot's but for my price range I could only afford a high milage old banger. Within 1 week of owning (my first car) I drove 300 miles to Newquay in it happily cruising between 70-80MPH with the engine running quietly and not making any straining sounds (I know not a technical phrase). It did struggle a bit on big hills (if you've driven to Cornwall you will know the ones I mean) with 2 people in and luggage but considering it is only an 898cc engine I was really surprised on how well it did. I almost didn't buy this due to the engine size but I'm so glad I did. It starts every time even on really cold days, it comfortable to drive roomier than it looks from outside despite it's size my 6'4" boyfriend fits in the passenger seat with no problems as the dash is cut away instead of a glovebox there is alot of room. Although I have never had anyone in the back!! The upholstory is a bright electric blue which looks great with the orange/gold paint. Yes it really bright but I love it now it's really grown on me. I don't think anyone will miss me on dark dingy days no one seems to pull out on me now.
The best thing is despite the scary fuel costs it is only £40-£45 to fill a tank. It actually cost me about £35 to drive to Newquay (300 miles) which is insane fuel economy. I was also pleased to find it comes with power steering, electric windows and sunroof! The handling is brilliant it really grips to the road even going round sharp bends.
I planned to buy this and keep for a year to get some NCB before getting a bigger car but I won't be parting with this for some time! For a new driver or as a second car I couldn't recommend it enough.
Summary: Brilliant little car can't rate it enough
