Advantages: reliable, lots of extras, cheap now.
Disadvantages: It was hard to get hold of at the time.
I upgraded my Seicento for a fiat stilo about 3 years ago, and I loved it. I chose to sell it to use the money towards my wedding, but I still miss it sometimes, and I now drive my husbands Mitsubishi L200 - a tad different to the seicento I started with.
I had the 3 door, diesel engine 1.6 version of the Stilo, with leather interior, and it was really lovely. I can't remember all the special features, but I know it had power steering, a CD player, electric windows, central locking, another little button on the key fob which opened the boot (very handy if your hands are full of shopping, but also very easy to lock your keys inside the car), electric mirrors, a special city button, armrest, and I'm sure lots more that I can't remember.
Driving my stilo was always a pleasure, it was very speedy and as it was a diesel it was cheaper to run than a petrol version, I'm not entirely sure about miles to the gallon and all the really technical stuff but the fuel did seem to last quite a long time, I think I would generally fill it up about every 3 to 4 weeks and to fill it cost me about £40 (that was a few years ago though, petrol prices may have risen since then! ha). As this car was a diesel, it was very easy to go fast without realising, I'm not saying I sped everywhere but when it's an easy quick car, it's very easy to go quite fast on the motorway without realising how fast you are actually going.
The city button on this car was amazing. I think it is made for people who are in the city obviously, but it helps with parking. It's a little round button near the cigarette lighter ad when you push it, it makes the steering super light, you could literally steer with one finger, it was a great help for those tricky spaces. The only problem with this is if you forget to take it off, it is impossible to drive on the roads as the steering is far too light, but it's easy enough to just click it back off again.
The leather interior really was a lovely extra and I would recommend it to anyone for that extra bit of luxury.
I had no problems with this car, and I really loved it. I think that they are discontinued now, so you can pick them up very cheaply, so they are now great value for money, as they are reliable but stylish cars.
I know that a lot of people don't really rate fiat's and I'm not too sure why, but my father in law is a mechanic and he said he was actually impressed by it, and he really liked it too.
I think overall it was just a good solid reliable car, with a few extras that made it feel a bit special, I might buy a car in the next few years, and I would definitely consider getting another Stilo. Especially if they are really cheap now due to the discontinuation.
Summary: A great, reliable, comfortable car.
