Advantages: Stunning looks, Value for money, Build Quality

Disadvantages: Indicators cancel easily, Wife keeps wanting to drive it!

I took delivery of my Stilo on September 2nd. I originally approached my local Fiat dealer intending to purchase the 3-door 1.2 Active priced at a bargain £8995 plus another £120 for the CD player upgrade, and took one for a test drive. I was absolutely smitten with the car; the 3-door model is nothing short of stunning in its looks, drives beautifully and, whilst not being the fastest car on the road, is more than adequately powered with the economical 1.2 16v engine under the bonnet. This is coupled to a six-speed gearbox which does take a little getting used to but it does help a small engine drive a medium-sized car.
My association with the Fiat dealer ended there due to them offering me a ridiculously low trade-in value for my X-reg Clio. Luckily a local independent dealer who supplies UK-spec imports had a Stilo in stock - metallic paint (worth £290), air con (£590), plus the CD player I wanted all for £8495 and they gave me £200 more than Fiat offered for my Clio. Now that IS a bargain.
I am so pleased with my new car. There still doesn't appear to be too many on the road and it gets a lot of glances and stares from people as I drive by. Everyone that I know has said what a fantastic-looking car it is, but it is so much more than looks. There are 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, and traction control for safety, a fully-adjustable drivers seat, loads of room for passengers and independently-controlled ventilation in the rear to provide comfort, and soft-feel quality plastics used throughout the dashboard and cockpit trims. The build quality is exceptional, and is more like what I have seen in German cars than their european rivals' models.
Two months on and I still stand and admire it every time I park it. I think I'm in love!

Cannot agree enough about the stilo, I have a 5dr 1.2 active with aircon. My wife wont let me use it!!!!!!
as for the servicing side of things, so far so good, brought the Blaupunkt disk chager for her for xmas, (btw if you buy from the dealer you get the modified fascia panel and adapter cable included, all for less than £200 inc vat and a 10 mins job to boot to fit) the first one was faulty, so when my wife returned it he discounted the nice stilo mats as a way of saying sorry.

I had 10 years' experience with Fiats - Uno and Croma. The cars weren't so bad, but the dealer servicing in Edinburgh was cr*p. And I understand it still is - courtesy of Arnold Clark. They are certainly useless getting any parts for my Alfa Romeo Spider.

Unfortunatly Stilo seems not to be a success... anyway in Italy. I think it's too expensive, but it seems to be a good car. And Fiat in general are very good becouse problems are very rare (I have a 15 year Fiat experience, with Uno and Punto...)

Bye, and enjoy your car!
