Hi, I took delivery of my Fiat Stilo 1.6 Active Sport on the 8th June 2003. The cars exterior look is stunning, however, I have made a few changes to it as I felt improvements could be made. I have added biger alloys and Eibach srings in order to remedy a mushy, wallowy ride. The car now feels planted and goes exactly where you point it. Other than this I have found this car to be superb, it's interior is not at all fussy, it has a Germanic build quality and three months and 5000 miles later nothing squeaks or has come loose. It is well equipped, offers a fantastic ride since upgrading the suspension, my only complaint is that I wish I could have afforded the Abarth model, this car really does need a powerful motor to justify it aggressive styling and stance. Go for the 1.8 if you can't afford an Abarth as the smaller engines are positively to weak for this car. I test drove a Focus, Golf, Almera, and Civic before buying this car and I believe I chose the best of the bunch, the Focus is too long in the tooth and very plasticy with poor build quality although the chassis and ride felt better, the Golf was too little car for too much money with a lack lustre 1.6 unit, the Almera was, well just Japanese a by-word for bland and the Civic just reminded me of my Grandad, unless you can afford the R-Type of course. I bought mine from Jamjar at £8995 which is a steal, as they retail at £11800 at Fiat dealers and they don't offer many real incentives, it's group five insurance, cheap as you like, £275 fully comp for me and the Mrs a year and you get a reasonable 32mpg. All in all I am well pleased with my new motor, it's a massive leap in terms of comfort, quality and style on the Brava that I owned, trouble free, for four years. Oh, one more thing, make sure your local Fiat dealer is a good one, as my local dealer is crap and I travel 17 miles to an excelllent Fiat dealer if I have any queries or purchases to make. Overall, good car, now sort
out your dealers Fiat!

Now this really is 'fishy'. I have now read 3 Fiat car reviews, all favourable, all 'first reviews'. Sounds to me like FIAT PR has got a gaggle of ghost writers together..... Check surveys and Fiat service comes out very poor.

I agree about finding a good dealer. My mother bought a new Fiat and couldn't pull the hand brake up because it was too tight. The dealer told her to take up body building. She wrote to the head office and they made the dealer sort it.
