Best car of all time (Ford Escort Cosworth)

Advantages: power, looks, that wing, road holding, 4 wheel drive.

Disadvantages: price, insurance group 20.

I've never owned an escort cosworth but it has always been my dream car since I first seen one about 5 years ago. It must be the nicest, most stylish car ever made. I have been in one since then and it just proved my point. If you like driving down B roads at high speed, then this is the car to do it in. It handles like a go-kart, sticks to the road like glue and the four wheel drive system will get you out of trouble nearly every time.

The problem is, the car's too good. Someone once told me that when you have an accident in one of these, it's usually a big one.
The interior is typical high standard leather and the seats are pretty supportive (although not as good as Recaros). There's a fair bit of space inside, but I wouldn't want to carry five people in it. The thing is, it's actually quite a small car from the outside.

The engine is incredibly responsive, with very little turbo lag. Things go bang at about 2800rpm, when the turbo kicks in and the world goes blurry. The main problem I have heard about with the cossie is that you never really know when the turbo is going to kick in, its never really without power without the turbo but then BANG, its warp 9 for you.

You do get a lot of road noise from the tyres and drive train, but the engine itself is actually pretty quiet at speed; you just hear a bit of turbo whine.

Even though the engines are pretty special, you have to admit the body is out of this world. That wing for a spoiler, if anyone says its not the best spoiler ever, they are blind. Even people who say they dont like it stop in the streets.

One problem though, even though they stopped making them about 4 years ago, its still hard to get one for under £14,000. But even for that, its one great car. Its well worth it.
