Why scrap the escort?? (Ford Escort in general)

Why oh why have Ford Cars Scrapped the making of the Escort. I personally own a T reg Escort and before that Have had an N reg, a K reg, a F reg and a B reg. Every single Escort that I have owned has been reliable and I have not needed to change my car until I felt it was time. Surely Escorts are still selling really well and there was no real need for them to be scrapped. I am a big Ford fan and I have had no problems with them at all. I just hope that the replacement for the escort will be just as good as the escort itself. Buy Ford everyone!!

My thoughts exactly. I have always loved my Escorts, I have had a F reg, a P reg and a V reg and even an Orion. Why on earth did they decide to stop making them? I loved each one I had, but I would never consider buying a Focus, I think they are horrible. I am even thinking about buying a used Escort soon as a second car, I am meant to be looking for something cheap to run - but Escorts are if you look after them properly! I have always loved the shape of the Escort and there is nothing available now that is anywhere near as appealing. We recently traded in a 2003 Vauxhall Astra, which came a close second to the Escort in appearance, and if I am honest, although it was only a 1.6, it did have more power than the Escorts. Unfortunately, Vauxhall have just ruined the Astra too, the new model is totally unrecognisable. Why have they ruined all the nice looking cars?!!?
