Advantages: very reliable and nippy engine
Disadvantages: not remote central locking
I Purchased this car in 2001 on an x reg in a mettalic green the engine is a 1.25 Zetec freestyle
I got it tax free as i was in the army so i only paid £7300 but it retailed at £9500.
This was my first car and is to date the most reliable car iv ever owned i got the first service done by the garage and all subsequence servicing was done by myself and this is the perfect car for the diyer as everything is so accessable and easy to change/renew. i owned the car for 3 and a half years and in that time the car never once missed a beat it started first time every time,.
Fuel consumption was very good it cost about £30 to fill the tank and that would do about 320 miles which is around 40 miles per gallon.
acceleration was very reasonable for the engine size with a 0-60 time of about 10.5 seconds, the time recorded speed i had out of mine was 120 mph but generally it was good for 115 mph on most motorways even though the book says 107 mph.
The seats were very comfortable and never caused me any problems on very long journeys.
the steering column is not adjustable which is a slight downside but it was in a good position for me but may not suit everyones driving style.
The heating system is very good which is invaluble in winter it takes a matter of 2 minutes to be fully heated.
my model came with 5 spoke 14 inch alloy wheels and front fog lamps, just to add a sporty look.
the boot space is very generous with space for a weeks shop and a buggy in the back no problem.
for anyone thinking of buying this car i fully recommend it.
Summary: An excellent allround car that can be picked up for very little money
