Advantages: Excellent handling, Rev-happy engine, Fun to drive
Disadvantages: Limited rear space
I own a mark 4 Fiesta Zetec 1.25 which I bought back in February 2001. I think it's a great little car to drive, probably the best car of it's class and size. Ride and Handling: This is where the Fiesta really excels. It can take corners at speed with no problem and it grips the road really well, the Zetec includes power-steering and uprated suspension. The overall ride is very comfortable and secure thanks to the sports-style front seats. Engine: The 1.25 16v Zetec engine is very responsive and will rev quite happily when you plant your right foot down. Power is around 75bhp as standard which is impressive for such a small engine. Space: Front space is very good, this is due to the fact the front dashboard has been pushed back for the front passenger. Rear space is disappointing because the front chairs push back too far causing lack of room for rear passenger's legs. Boot space is adequate and will accomodate several large bags. Style: The mark 4 is a very nice looking car in my opinion, it is quite curvy and has a nice modern look. The Zetec is an impressive car and comes with metallic paint, rear spoiler, colour-coded bumpers, front fog-lights and 14" alloy wheels. Costs: The Fiesta has always been pretty cheap to run, you will get about 40mpg from the Zetec which is respectable. As long as you have the car serviced at regular intervals you should have no problems. The only problem I know of with these Fiestas are minor electrical faults in some models. Insurance and tax will be cheap as it is only a 1.25 engine. Overall: The Fiesta Zetec is a great, fun car to drive and worth every penny. Highly recommended!
