... year. Inside, although there is a lot of plastic it all feels solid. Seats are nice and firm and seem to resist dirt well. Bluetooth hands free, aircon etc all good - voice activation good for calls. **Driving** - a really nice drive - I tried the smaller engine and the petrol and they both felt a bit gutless or choked back - can only think it was the engine management system making it sip the fuel. I have the 1.6 diesel which is actually really pokey and fun to drive - it's not in GTi territory of course, but it ...more

Crowned ReviewFord Fiesta (1999 onwards) in general: Ford Fiesta Titanium 1.4ltr Petrol (2660 words)

Rating:

I bought a brand new Ford Fiesta roughly 3.5 years ago and owned it for 3 years driving roughly 25,000 miles. When I bought it the new style Fiesta model had just been released and as soon as I saw it I knew I had to have one. My current car at the time was a Fiat Punto which was struggling and had just spent 2 weeks in a garage so I knew what I had to do. **My Background** I do approx 7000 miles a year and this mainly consists of my journey to work every day which is 10 miles city driving yet takes roughly 1 hour, therefore my average speed on this journey is 10mph !! However I also do occasional leisure drives around the country to visit family ...  Read the complete review

Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCi 1.4 Ghia (2004) Background I have owned my 2004 Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCi since it was 6 months old and have traveled at the time of writing (OCT 2007) 25000 miles though the car has done 30000 in total. The car lacks in one area, which is acceleration, however, this does not detract from a 5-star rating because if you're purchasing a diesel at this price point you should be doing it for the excellent economy - not for super fast performance... The Drive The car is great fun to drive, and surprisingly nippy round town, the handling feels safe and secure and corners neatly. It is not a performance hatchback so don't expect to ...  Read the complete review

Ford Fiesta (1999 onwards) in general: Top Notch first car (590 words)

I had my beautiful 2002 Ford Fiesta Finesse as my first car and it really did serve me well. It lasted me 4 years then I traded her in for a Golf but I do occasionally drive my mums Fiesta so I can reminisce about how much fun she was to drive. Don't get me wrong, there is no way I would ever trade n my Golf to get the Fiesta back again but I think that, as a first car, you really cant go wrong with it. Mine was a 3 door 1250 CC and that was enough for me at the time. Sure it had trouble getting up hills and the back was pretty cramped but I still loved it. The one main thing that I really liked was the fact that it was so light. You could go round ...  Read the complete review

Last year, with the dimise of my beloved ford flyte diesel 1600cc. (at very short notice I, may add.) I found myself stranded. My work requires that I have a reliable car. Under extreme duress I decided I had to have a decent car ! (we all reach that time at some point in our driving career.!) Well used to the Ford model, and I must admit somewhat swayed by Ford's advertising ,I rang the local dealer. I headed down to the dealership post haste . (well faster than the post these days!)In the showroom they were promoting the Ford Ka and the Finnesse. Having completed some haggling, they really do like yopu top buy - I secured a thousand pound trade in on my ...  Read the complete review

Ford Fiesta (1999 onwards) in general: 1.6 Zetec-S (622 words)
by - written on 04/11/03, updated on  04/11/03 (Very useful, 8017 readings)
Rating:

Had this car for 18 months and I've just sold it to make way for something a bit cheaper and diesel (yuck!) powered in light of a forthcoming house move. So, what can I tell you about 18 months and 13,000 miles with this little warm hatch? Well, for starters the Zetec-S is one of the most cruelly underrated cars on the market today. The 1.6 litre "Zetec-SE" engine develops 103 horsepower which, whilst not exactly setting the tarmac alight, provides enough punch to entertain. It's a beautifully keen engine as well, growling enthusiastically to the limiter, and providing surprising low down torque for a small 16 valve unit. In most cases, this ...  Read the complete review
