Advantages: Easy to park

Disadvantages: No acceleration

I have been driving my mothers Ford Fiesta for the past three weeks while my own car under goes some major engine surgery so I reckon three weeks in a a few hundred miles I have enough experience to write a review.

The car is a three door hatch and has a petrol engine which is a 1.25, this means that it has very poor acceleration and while it is a comfortable drive at fifty to sixty miles per hour it starts to scream like a banshee at anything faster than that. Drivng around town it is very nippy with nice handling and it is really easy to park. I have been on the motorway a couple of times and found myself stuck in the inside lane with no prospect of over taking unless it was a slow moving lorry, I also felt quite insignificant on the road and with no acceleration to rely on you do feel a little vulnerable.

It was certainl a comfortable ride, I found the seats to be well padded however there was not a lot of room in he back for the rear passengers especially when my boyfriend was behind the wheel as he is six foot.

Inside the car is rather ugly with a huge black plastic dash board and a large round speedo which makes it look like cyclops. On the plus side the air conditioning is excellent and pretty responsive across the available settings.

Fuel consumption on long journeys is about 60 mpg while shorter journeys are about 45 mpg to 50 mpg so it is not bad. In fact being relatively cheap to run with low servicing costs is one of ts main benefits.

Summary: Not a great small car
