They weren't so obvious but there were more of them vertically placed in maybe 5 mm spacings across the entire width of the glass. The wires were thin but still irritating. The second was the seat. It was comfy when you first sat in it but after about half an hour my legs went numb. I am 6 foot 3 so I don't know if that had anything to do with it but it was almost unbearable after not long. The gearbox also left something to be desired. Again...more

Ford Fiesta Ghia: Thank God I don't own one (205 words)

Hired a new Fiesta in Cyprus last year and thought it was a bit rough but put this down to the roads there. This last three weeks had a loan car, Fiesta Style, petrol with 10,000 on the clock, as wifes car written off. Never been a fan of Fords as I can remember the day when you had one only if you couldn't afford a push bike. But they have improved over the years ? Good points : Great radio, clear and easy to use whilst driving. Nice gear change as always. Clear and easy controls on dash. Good seating. Bad points: Harsh engine when pushed. Noisy, couldn't hear the sat nav at 80. Rough ride on B roads, hit a pot hole and risk riveting one's bottom ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review My Fiesta is great! (267 words)

I am lucky enough to own a 1997 (P) Ghia X, and I have to say that it is a FABULOUS little car!!! I must admit that I am a fan of the Fiesta, having owned a mark 2 for 6 or so years. Having upgraded to this newer mark 4 model, I can see that Ford have got things right. The brakes actually work, it feels safe (even thought it is a small car) and is just far more comfortable than the older models. Down sides…well, the 1.4 is perhaps not as economical as you would like (not a plus point in these days of high petrol prices and even complete lack of fuel). It is also not particularly sporty looking compared with cars of similar ilk (e.g. Peoguot 206). ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Ford Fiesta Ghia: Added extras on a small car. (470 words)

We all like comfort in our cars. We all want a little bit extra in our transport. So that is where the Ghia range of fiestas comes into its own for small car niceties. Ghia have been putting their personalised touches on Ford cars for about 25 years now. I remember Escorts of the 1980's having chrome piping around the windows to make them look posh . The Fiesta is one of the models where it makes a REAL difference today. In today's modern fiesta, your "bog standard" model would give you: Manual windows. Basic cloth trim. Basic dash layout. No Central Locking No Sunroof. Now for a ...  Read the complete review

I learned to drive in on of these a month or so ago and spent many an hour driving around in town in it. As a learner car it was good. It was not hard to drive by any means and difficult to stall. I haven't had enough driving experience yet to really judge it but there were a few things that came to mind. The first of these is the windscreen. In the same way that the rear wind screen in most cars have wire running through them to help them de mist, the front had them too. I have a P reg Ford Fiesta ghia x. I love it. the number of times this car has got me out of trouble, cant be counted. But first, its problems. There has only been one problem with this car. about 4 months ago in March 2000, the car started to randomly stall even when you drive in a straight line, at 30. Eventually,. I took the car to a Ford garage, and it turned out that pretty much all fiestas made at the same time as this one have a problem with the fuel injection valve. ie it stops working. This has now been replace, and the engine has never run better. Now to the stuff I like. Firstly the tires. This fiesta was originally baught by a guy who worked ...  Read the complete review
