Perfect, suitable for any age and any sex. A wonderful run around. Very comfortable!

I Bought this car in 2007 and Have had no problems at all, the ride is excellent!

As always with fords, the comfort at the wheel is outstanding. This car makes me feel very safe and secure. I would recommend this car to any age group. I own a 1.4 engine and it is no slouch, acceleration is better than you may expect! this car is head and shoulders above its competitors because of its class.

Ford fiestas are obviously very popular, they look stylish and drive superbly. They are great on the inside too, the dashboard is very modern.

Petrol consumption is very good, a full tank now costs just over £50.

I am not a massive fan of the wheels that come as standard, to me they are tacky! if you can afford a new pair of rims, then I suggest you look into it. I feel no need to change car because my little fiesta is so reliable!

I am always recieving comments on how new my car looks and I have done nearly 100000 miles in it! I am very proud of my car and I hope That I have persuaded you to maybe look into buying one yourself. There are some outstanding colours available as standard. Green looks amazing!

I would give this car a 96/100 and would recommend it to anyone!

a stunning car! well worth the money also!

      thanks for reading :)

A great car if you want a smaller car

I recently had to buy a car as my old Punto badly failed the MOT and is now unsafe to druve, sadly.
After much hunting around and a lot of stress and test drives, I am now the owner of a Ford Fiesta 1.25 Ghia 5 door in Silver. It also says something about a zetec S in the engine, what ever that may mean.

I have never owned a Ford before, but I must say I really do like this car. I was worried that there wouldn't be enough room, what with it being a smaller car, but it is surprisingly roomy inside. I can comfortably fit me and 4 other people in, and no one has yet complained about the lack of space.

I find that my Fiesta drives quite nicely indeed. There is some good acceleration power, the clutch and gears work very smoothly and the brakes are firm and respond well. I love the fact this car has power steering, and even at high speeds the car turns corners without a struggle. Personally, I love the way it handles, and it is so easy to park it, forwards or backwards. The steering wheel is a decent size, and has a comfy grip to it, so you won't get sore hands after a lot of driving. The horn is in the middle of the steering wheel and is quite responsive, as I found out by accident lol!

The accelerator, clutch and brake pedals are a good size for me to fit my feet on comfortably, without being close enough together that you accidently hit any of the other pedals. The front windows are electric, and you can control both windows from the buttons on the drivers door, as well as operate the passenger window with the button on the passenger door. The back windows are both manual windows. The wing mirrors are a great size and these are adustable using a small stick on the window area.

Both back and front windscreen wipers have squirters on them, so you can always have clean screens, and the back window has heated demisters, which work very quickly. The heating and cooling system in the car is brilliant. On cold days, it is good to know that my car heats up quickly, so I can wack the heat on whilst I am driving to college. There is 5 strengths of fan speed, so you can control how hard the hot or cold air is blown around the car. The cool blow is also very good for summer, as it is really nice and chilled.

The speakers in the car are not the best I have heard music through, but they are by no means the worst either. I do have to turn up the volume a little more than I did in my Punto, but this is nothing major. There are speakers in the dash on drivers and passengers sides, as well as one in the drivers door, one in the passenger door and 2 in the back. This provides a pretty good music system, albeit a little bit quieter than what I expected it to be.

As with most cars, the indicators are on the left stick, along with the headlight controls, and the windscreen wiper controls are on the right hand stick. The dashboard indicators have the speedomoter, a rev counter, a mileage display and the usual lights to warn if you something is wrong like low petrol, oil, water etc. There is also a light to warn you if a door is open in the car. Just behind the gearstick is a handy little place that I usually pop my phone and cigarettes in, as it is the perfect size and where is it low enough to the floor, nothing falls out when I go fast round corners and bends.

There is a boot release button just infront of this little cubby hole, and one press releases the boot catch. The boot is also openable by key. The boot has quite a good amount of space and I can easily fit a months grocery shop in the boot, or a major shopping spree! To open the bonnet, there is a lever in the steering column, which is bright red, and you pull this to release the catch on the bonnet. When you have lifted the bonnet, there is a stick which will hold it up for you, whilst you do your thing with the engine.

The main part of the engine that most people need to know of are clearly labelled with easily identifiable pictures, so you can find them easily. This includes the oil, radiator water and washer fluid ports. There is an unsecured petrol cap cover, so I recommend always using a key locked petrol cap for this car. I find that even with petrol prices being as disgusting as they are at the moment, I can fill the tank up in my car for £30 and usually around £10 of petrol will last me around 80 - 90 miles depending on traffic, speed and whether driving in town or on a motorway.

The tax bracket for the car is quite low, which is a bonus and the insurance is generally quite cheap too. My insurance did rise slightly from what it was with my Punto, but this is because the Fiesta is a bit newer than the Punto is. Another thing I love about this car is that reverse is easy to get into, no faffing around with having to push the gearstick down, or lift something up, it is just put it into reverse and start moving back wards!

The seats in the Fiesta are nice and comfy, with a slight bit of squish to them, yet they still have a nice amount of support for your back. There is 5 seat belts in the car, and also a drivers airbag. The glove box is actually quite massive, I can fit loads in there and there is handy little drinks section on the inside of the door to the glovebox, which has two drinks holders, big enough for bottles and cups as well as cans. There is also a random pen holder on here too!

The car does have a sunroof, but one that only raises up slightly to let in air, it is not fully retractable.

Personally, I find this to be a great little car and I love driving my Fiesta. If you are looking to get a small car, which will give you good mileage for your petrol, is low on tax and insurance, then I can totally recommend you get a Ford Fiesta Ghia, as it is a wonderful car for the all reasons I have listed above, and I am sure as time goes on, I will find even more reasons as to why I love it.

5 out of 5 from me, and I hope this review has been of some help to you.

          A fun, inexpensive little car

I have a 1.25 V-reg petrol Fiesta Ghia which I bought used in 2006. It's my second car and my second Ford. A lot of people rubbish Fords, but I've been very happy with this one - it's a joy to have a car that gets through the MOT with no work needed (touch wood). Reading through the paperwork I got with it, it appears to have been a reliable car from the off - the only work done on it has been for general wear and tear such as brake pads, tyres etc. I don't drive it every day, but it always starts -even in wet weather that has seen my husband's '03 Seat Ibiza refuse to budge from the drive. To drive, it's not the best for overtaking at speed, but it's a great little mover for town driving. Fun and very fuel efficient, even for an older car. I have the 5-door version and find it really practical - a really good sized boot for a small car and plenty of space in the back. I'm not sure you'd want to take 5 adults from John O'Groats to Land's End in it, but there's plenty of room for short journeys. All in all, a practical, inexpensive little car.

A car with no outstanding features but it does work.

I learned to drive in on of these a month or so ago and spent many an hour driving around in town in it. As a learner car it was good. It was not hard to drive by any means and difficult to stall.

I haven't had enough driving experience yet to really judge it but there were a few things that came to mind.

The first of these is the windscreen. In the same way that the rear wind screen in most cars have wire running through them to help them de mist, the front had them too. They weren't so obvious but there were more of them vertically placed in maybe 5 mm spacings across the entire width of the glass. The wires were thin but still irritating.

The second was the seat. It was comfy when you first sat in it but after about half an hour my legs went numb. I am 6 foot 3 so I don't know if that had anything to do with it but it was almost unbearable after not long.

The gearbox also left something to be desired. Again, I've not driven a huge amount but the gear stick seemed very unconnected from the gears. This may have been some fly by wire type technology but it didn't seem to have any benefit over the older type gear boxes that have been in the other cars I've driven.

Maybe I would have liked it more if I hadn't been learning or if I had spent more time on main roads but I wasn't overly impressed. It wasn't a bad car by any means but it certainly didn't impress.

Overall an excellent, reliable, sturdy and comfortable car

I bought this car second hand (2 previous owners) around 2 years ago - it is a 2002 reg. The interior is very comfortable, the steering wheel is compact, the gears and foot pedals are spaced out nicely, and there are plenty of cup holders / pockets etc to store things. I do not have a sun-roof, but the air conditioning is absolutely superb. It has various settings and has been a life saver in both winter and summer. Externally the body work seems quite susceptible to rust - this is something to look out for when buying a Ghia, and to keep on top of if you own one. It is pretty good on fuel, I think I get around 320 miles out of the tank (which at 102.9 a litre costs me £40 to fill - never been good at the miles to the gallon workings out!). The engine gets very hot, it is not a fault, or a mechanical failure, as I, in a panic, have taken it to a few different reputable garages about this. You should therefore allow the engine to cool before popping the bonnet and topping up fluids, including the windscreen wash (just in case you burn yourself!). The boot lights up when you open it, which is a good feature, and is not huge, but sufficient to put a week's shopping in! Overall, an excellent, reliable, sturdy and comfortable car.

Light years behind the other small cars

Hired a new Fiesta in Cyprus last year and thought it was a bit rough but put this down to the roads there. This last three weeks had a loan car, Fiesta Style, petrol with 10,000 on the clock, as wifes car written off.
Never been a fan of Fords as I can remember the day when you had one only if you couldn't afford a push bike. But they have improved over the years ?
Good points : Great radio, clear and easy to use whilst driving. Nice gear change as always. Clear and easy controls on dash. Good seating.
Bad points: Harsh engine when pushed. Noisy, couldn't hear the sat nav at 80. Rough ride on B roads, hit a pot hole and risk riveting one's bottom together. But the worst thing of all is there is no room for the left foot at the side of the clutch which means you have to lift foot up from floor to operate the clutch, bit like a mid engine 1950 truck.
Compare it to the new Micra and it's like going back two decades.
So all in all a really nasty ,not so little to manouvre, gutless car, little better than the old Lada.

Beautiful car, worth every penny and comfy to drive

I bought it brand new in 2000 and it is a great car, it handles pretty well and is very responsive under the accelerator, I have also added a sunroof, spoiler and cd player. It is very good on the mileage, for the petrol (around 35 per gallon), and it has 14" spoke alloys as standard with a nice thick tyre and a host of other extras (ones which I particularly like are the heated windscreen and electric heated door mirrors.

It is a most reliable car and has never let me down and is used daily.

I have just ordered my new Fiesta Freedom (Limited Edition) and it will be ready end of September. I have always had Ghia's as I like the extras and comfort, the new Ghia has leather upholstery as standard, but this is an extra I would not have due to the seats getting very hot to sit on in hot weather. My daughter is taking over my Fiesta Ghia and hopefully will pass her test soon.

I would suggest to anyone thinking of buying a Ford Fiesta or a Ford in general to do themselves a massive favour and stay well clear.

Yes this car is nice to drive. But that’s about the only positive thing I can say about this car.

We bought a Fiesta 1.25 Ghia from new, and from the start we had problems. Rattles, Brake lights that don't work, Electric windows that jam, Automatic gearboxes that breakdown after 5,000 miles, doors that don't close properly, radios that breakdown, pulling to the left.....the list just goes on.

At no point did Ford seem interested in sorting our car. Once they get your cash, they don't care.

Overall, a poor quality car that is certainly NOT engineered to last.

I really do love my 'P' reg Ford Fiesta Ghia, it is a pleasure to drive. This is only my second car ever - the first being a Vauxhall Corsa Envoy so whilst I do not have experience of many cars I know what I like and I do like the Fiesta Ghia. It is nippy, comfortable, handles well and last but not least a good looking car. It only had one previous owner and he obviously took very good car of it. It has a very low mileage and a spotless interior. I have owned the car for almost nine months now and it has only had one problem. About three days after buying it from the garage, I was driving along a country road when the engine just stopped for no reason. The garage came out and fixed what they said was a minor electrical fault. I have had not a single problem since! I suppose if I am honest, I must admit that I do drive a little on the cautious side but whenever my husband has drove my car, he has been very impressed and has said that he would consider exchanging his Vaxhall Astra for a Fiesta if I didn't already have one! I would recommend a Ford Fiesta Ghia to anyone (and have done to my friends). Admittedly I am no car expert but in my own brief experience I think you will be pleased! Enjoy.

I am lucky enough to own a 1997 (P) Ghia X, and I have to say that it is a FABULOUS little car!!! I must admit that I am a fan of the Fiesta, having owned a mark 2 for 6 or so years. Having upgraded to this newer mark 4 model, I can see that Ford have got things right. The brakes actually work, it feels safe (even thought it is a small car) and is just far more comfortable than the older models. Down sides…well, the 1.4 is perhaps not as economical as you would like (not a plus point in these days of high petrol prices and even complete lack of fuel). It is also not particularly sporty looking compared with cars of similar ilk (e.g. Peoguot 206). HOWEVER, the plus points for this car are immense! The seats are incredibly comfortable (and yes, I do spend large amounts of time going up and down motorways to test this). All the extras you get in this package are great (including complete electrics and CD player). But my favourite part of my car is its engine. Its nippy and fun, and when put together with the handling, makes for an enjoyable driving experience. In my opinion, this mark 4 version of the Fiesta is the best yet. I have driven the newer model, and there is no real differences between them (except perhaps for the electrical mileometer now available in the newer models). Ford, whatever you do, please do not make the newer version any less good than your current Fiesta!

I have a P reg Ford Fiesta ghia x. I love it. the number of times this car has got me out of trouble, cant be counted. But first, its problems. There has only been one problem with this car. about 4 months ago in March 2000, the car started to randomly stall even when you drive in a straight line, at 30. Eventually,. I took the car to a Ford garage, and it turned out that pretty much all fiestas made at the same time as this one have a problem with the fuel injection valve. ie it stops working. This has now been replace, and the engine has never run better. Now to the stuff I like. Firstly the tires. This fiesta was originally baught by a guy who worked for ford, and therefore, there were a couple of very slight modifications made. the tires are larger than normal, and the engine is pretty much the only one of its type with multi point fuel injection - to all you non motor enthusiasts, it means its more efficient and faster. Anyway. enough bable, heres the stuff thast will actually be useful. The seats are some of the most comfortable ive ever been in. They give lots of support, and have therefore meant the long journeys to wales or the south west coast (i live in london), have been a breeze. It also has a fantastic stereo, with cd player making the long journeys even more barible. The ride is more set up for a little sporty car. This does of course make the bumps that you find in london to be a bit of a pain, but you learn to live with it, as the harder suspension has meant that I have not yet met a single other car including golf gti's, bmw's etc that can corner as fast as my car can. I know what your thinking now though. your thinking boy racer. well think again, because this is infact my mums car, and she uses it to do the shopping in, and loves it. All in all, i think fiestas are a fantastic car. there easy to drive and v comfortable (by the way i am 6' 1" and i easily fit in it.
