My Fiesta is great! (Ford Fiesta Ghia)

I am lucky enough to own a 1997 (P) Ghia X, and I have to say that it is a FABULOUS little car!!!

I must admit that I am a fan of the Fiesta, having owned a mark 2 for 6 or so years. Having upgraded to this newer mark 4 model, I can see that Ford have got things right. The brakes actually work, it feels safe (even thought it is a small car) and is just far more comfortable than the older models.

Down sides…well, the 1.4 is perhaps not as economical as you would like (not a plus point in these days of high petrol prices and even complete lack of fuel). It is also not particularly sporty looking compared with cars of similar ilk (e.g. Peoguot 206).

HOWEVER, the plus points for this car are immense! The seats are incredibly comfortable (and yes, I do spend large amounts of time going up and down motorways to test this). All the extras you get in this package are great (including complete electrics and CD player). But my favourite part of my car is its engine. Its nippy and fun, and when put together with the handling, makes for an enjoyable driving experience.

In my opinion, this mark 4 version of the Fiesta is the best yet. I have driven the newer model, and there is no real differences between them (except perhaps for the electrical mileometer now available in the newer models). Ford, whatever you do, please do not make the newer version any less good than your current Fiesta!
