Advantages: easy to drive, cheap
Disadvantages: not that reliable or strong
This was my first car, and was an absolute dream. It only cost me £1000 so is ideal for first timer buyers on a budget. There was loads of visability in this car, so reserving round corners and parking was easy. I actually asked to take my test in my own car, as the visability was so good in it, and passed first time.
The car itself wasnt the most reliable though, it had a manual choke and often i'd forget to put it back in, opps! Sometimes the car wouldnt start when it was particularly cold, but i found pumping the clutch before starting the engine did the trick.
I also had the exhaust fall off, despite all this, the parts were very cheap, tyres were only £20, and my most expensive garage bill was just £200. I loved this car, the inside was a little old fashioned but the car was always lovelly and warm inside, and seemed to retain heat well. The dials were old but it had a certain charm to it.
The paint i have to say was abit poor, and did fade over time, so id definetely recommend polishing it often to help prolong the life of the paint colour.
The fiesta didnt seem the strongest in the world, and had i had an accident i probably would have been crushed in it, but luckily i didnt, and the car served me very well.
When i sold the car 2 years later, unbeliveably i got over £1000 for it, so depreciation is amazing on these little gems.
I had a 3 door, and i was often giving people lifts from school, and this car easily fitted 5 people, with easy access in and out.
Summary: GREAT FIRST CAR, well worth the money
