Advantages: cheap to run, cheap parts, reliable
Disadvantages: not as comfy as other models
I bought this car a few months after i passed mty driving test 5 years ago.
I was at college at the time so i only had a small budget. I managed to find a ford fiesta at a reasonable cost for around 400 pounds, which had a long MOT and a few months tax.
Obviously there were a few problems with this car due to its age, but nothing that stopped it from being road legal and drivable.
It has a bit of rust where the wheel arches are, and i was told that this is common on fiestas.
This has proved to be right because when i sold a fiesta on ebay the other week a potential buyer asked if there were any rust stops on the arches.
The car didnt have power steering, and hardly any other extras.
To me, the car served its purpose. A cheap car to insure, tax, and run.
I didnt need all the fancy extras, but if you do then you need to pay a bit more and upgrade to a newer model.
The car lasted me quite a while, and i was sad to see it go.
I recommend this car to young people who have recently passed their test, for a number of reasons.
Cheap to insure
cheap to tax
I filled the tank with about 30pounds worth of fuel, and it lasted me weeks, and i drove about 15miles a day.
Parts are easy to get hold of.
Summary: great car for the price
