Advantages: Quick, Good Handling

Disadvantages: Build Quality Suspect

Many people are quick to slight the current Fiesta because of it's underpinnings (it's design dates back to 1989) but who can blame Ford for sticking to such a good design.
The handling is sharp and precise (even on our cars below-average Continental tyres) with speeds as low as 30 mph able to put a smile on your face.
Even when pushed to the limit, the Fiesta is predictable, yet fun.

The Zetec engines are great, with little to choose between the 1.25 and 1.4. Response is instant and economy is good. The exhaust note is pleasing even on non-Zetec badged models.

We have a 1998 1.4 Ghia X and love it to bits. Over and above the plus points of the typical Fiesta (as outlined above) are it's rather generous equipment levels. You can expect air-con, drivers seat electric height adjust, heated windscreen, alloys, CD Player etc.
We have driven some very long journeys to France and found the car remains comfortable and relaxed to drive no matter how many hours are spent on the autoroutes and autobahns of Europe.
In town the car is a real barrel of laughs too.

Only two things have ever really bothered us about the car: it's tendency for things to stop working/rust/wear out and the smallish boot space.

There are many supermini alternatives but this remains my favourite.
