Advantages: Looks, drivability, handling, everything.
Disadvantages: I cant afford one
When my FIAT punto had to go into the Garage for repair, my breakdown company arranged a replacement car, which I then hired for the duration until my car was fixed.
The car I ended up with was the Ford Fiesta Zetec S.
less than 1000 miles on the clock, brand new car smell and acceleration to knock the balls off a brass monkey. I knew this was going to be fun.
Getting into the car, everything was in the right place and the sporty seats did make the ride to work at 3am very comfortable.
My usual trip to work was about 35mins, with this car, I can honestly say, you will struggle to keep it under 90mph. It literally just pulls away from you when you put your foot down.27mins was the time to get there.
Road Handling:
The car was very easy to handle and going round coners was not too evenful. At speed there was a little oversteer, but thats expected.
Quality of Build:
The build quality on the outside was rock solid, and the car looks very very sporty.
The inside was a bit plasticy around the storage spaces, but other than that it was ok.
Comfort:
One word luxury. The seats were well designed, the cabin was laid out perfectly, the dials and all the things you have to fiddle with were there ready for you to touch without streatching.
Storage Space:
Im a guy (reasonable well built) and to see what the space was like in the boot, i decided to get in and let my other half (shes the one that does the reviews on the 'girly' stuff) decided to close and lock the boot.
Now for those of you who are interested, I can tell you that if you ever try this, you need the keys to get out as I could find no open latch in the boot compartment. However, there was loads of space and I was let out after about 10mins.
Fuel consumption:
It does tell you how many miles it expects to get from the fuel left in the car, obviously being a sporty type there is the extra engine power. To fill it up was about £38.00 and I managed to get 310 miles or so to the tank.
Conclusion:
This car is a very sporty car and I recon my generation 20-27 year olds would love it.
We took the car to Longleat - Hampshire,UK Near the End we ended up going into the Monkey Enclosure. They saw the new shiny car and went for it. We lost a rubber bit from the top, which was kindly returned by a laughing park ranger and the screen wash squirter was recovering after a money tried to make monkey love to it.
The only thing I can say is (In true Jeremy Clarkson style -Top Gear) TOP TIP: dont take a Ford Fiesta into a monkey enclosure, cos you'll end up missing bits... On that Bomb Shell....
Summary: Ford Fiesta Zetec S is a great small family car.
