... before. The only reason why I bought it was, because it was cheap and I knew someone else who had one, which led me to buy it. I have had the car now for just over a year. I bought it brand new and to be truthful, I am thinking of changing it to a Toyota Yaris. Overall, it is economical, but the Nissan micra and march is better on petrol if you like a small car. I can't recommend whether anyone should buy this car or not, but I will say that I have not had any problems with it so far....more

Premium Review Ford Focus 1.4 CL 5dr: An Economical Car To Buy (339 words)

Rating:

I own a Ford focus 1.4 4 door hatchback, which is a manual. I have had this car for one year now. The previous car to that was a Nissan March 1.0 automatic. To be honest, I still prefer the Nissan March, because it was a smoother drive. The focus is not bad, but it doesn't feel smooth. Now, I don't know much about cars and their engines. The only thing I can comment on is what I have found to be good or bad about the focus so far. The focus has everything you need. This model that I own has air conditioning, front electric windows, cd player and alloy wheels. It is a basic car and in my opinion, it has the appearance of looking a bit like ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review The hype seems justified (975 words)

Ford's Focus has been consistently one of the best-selling cars in the UK since it's launch in late 1998. It's a familiar sight to all of us on the roads today, and is well-liked by the motoring press who still rate it as one of the best cars in its class. I drove a 1.4LX five-door model in Ireland for the last five days, and these are my thoughts for the 600-odd miles. First off, familiarity has dulled the shape a bit. When it was first launched it was light years away from the conservative Escort it replaced, but as Ford had launched the distinctive KA and Scorpio to stunned punters a couple of years previously, the public were at least a little ...  Read the complete review

Ford Focus 1.4 CL 5dr: Poor wear and tear for low mileage (93 words)
by - written on 14/06/01
Rating:

My Focus is two years old. It has done 18,000 miles and in Feb this year I was so pleased with it I bought it at the end of the options deal. BIG MISTAKE. It has since its last service had two new front tyres(£90), a back box to the exhaust(£180). It needs new PAS pump and hose (£500) and front and rear sleeves fitting to exhaust to stop knocking noises (£190). I am highly disapointed and worried to now own a car with so many problems. Has anyone out there experienced anything of the same ? ...  Read the complete review
