I am quite a ford fan, my parents have had fords for my entire life, they still have two, my brother and me also have one, and in fact we are known as family ford.
Originally my parents drove a sierra but last may they decided to buy a focus and after careful consideration bought a 3 dr 1.8 zetec. This car is simply fantastic!
I own the sierra now and when my mum parted with it she did not consider it as an old car. The focus changed her mind and I am considering buying one as well. A good upgrade when purchasing the car is the climate pack that includes the air conditioning. I’ve been totally converted to the air conditioning clan. It is great on hot days (obviously) but also offers other advantages. De-misting the car on wet days is much easier and faster using the air-con also that hot flush when the car has been closed up in the sun is quick to go, the other main advantage is the heated front windscreen for those frosty mornings.
The engine in the 1.8 is noticeably better than the 1.6 that most of the previews use. Apart from better economy and performance the increase in power makes for a nicer experience. The zetec comes with sports suspension (stiffer), which makes the ride a bit bumpier, but when coupled with the excellent rear suspension makes the car feel like it’s on rails.

For the price of the car and its performance I would strongly recommend anyone to get one the interior is comfy and roomy in both front and back so families don’t need to worry. All in all well-done ford!
