I have got hold of a Ford Zetec 1.6 diesel 2009 plate, and at the moment i have a kia Rio 3 1.5 diesel 2008 plate as well. SO really i can compare these cars together for a start. (PS i know this is not about comparing a different car to the ford, but i gotta work on something)

No first of all will be engine performance:

Well while the zetec boasts it can go 0 - 60 in a matter of about 10 seconds and the kia 12 seconds, i have yet still to notice if the ford is faster than the kia, it certainly does not feel like it can. To be quite honest it feels like im driving a tank, the ford is so heavy where the kia is light.

Now about the handling.

Well because the ford is like a tank it sticks to the ground and you can wrap it around corners where in the kia i can get the same handling but feels less sturdy, which to be honest makes the kia more fun.

Next would be Miles to the Gallon:

Now the kia boasts 65 miles to the gallon but i get about 54 but in the ford i get 48 which is to be expected from a heavier car, however the tax makes the kia more affordable as its only £25 a year. :) and more eco friendly

Looks:

Really depends on what you like, fords have a recognisable look, i think both cars arent that great looking lol, but the interior is another matter, the ford looks more executive than the kia, i do prefer the interior of the ford.

Price:

Now heres the difference, as well as everything being cheaper on the kia as running costs are concerned, the buying price is very differnt as well The ford comes at £13,000 and for that price you get the car and a few extras as well. I would not really pay this much for the ford as i dont think its worth it and whilst the kia cost 10,000 when i bought it new, i think i will just stick to that.

ALL in ALL:

Good car for families and estate agents but not for me, iyts a reliable car and the hands free is nifty, but i find the focus rather boring to drive and just sluggish. I far more prefer the older style of the focus and the older engine as well.
