Advantages: Good all round visibility, Pleasant to drive, Suits both short and tall drivers
Disadvantages: we haven't found any yet
We have had our Galaxy for 4 months and I have fallen head over heels in love with it. Not because it's the newest car I've ever had (which it is) or because it's the biggest (which it is) but because it's the best. We have a 2 litre Galaxy GLX petrol version which is 5 years old. Although we also liked the VW Sharan and the Seat Alhambra (which are all the same chassis & body I believe) our budget was more suited to the Galaxy, which is one of the most affordable people carriers there is. We discounted the Toyota Previa as we needed rear doors on both sides, not just one. The reason we needed a bigger car was that we have 2 children who are under 4 and another due 30th May 2001, so we would have 3 children in car seats. Even our previous car, a Ford Granada, couldn't cope with that. So why do I love the Galaxy so much? I'm not very tall at 5ft 3, and have always found driving more of a chore than a pleasure. Largely because if you're short, it's hard to see out of normal cars. The windows start too high up, you can't adjust your seating position properly, in fact in some cars I can't even reach the pedals properly. The Galaxy is a refreshing change. The all round visibility is brilliant, not just because of being higher up in the first place, but also because the windows are larger. It is easier to get in and out of (even at 37 weeks pregnant). I can get in the back (middle row of seats) with the children to secure their car seat harnesses (yes, I can still fit at this late stage of my pregnancy), I can sit close enough to use the pedals without being too close to the steering wheel. Lots of the simple things that make driving a more pleasurable experience. On top of all the extra space we have (we don't need 7 seats, we really needed 5 seats plus a decent size boot for shopping & double buggy), the Galaxy has air conditioning, electric sunroof, electric front windows and a host o
f other gadgets that I haven't yet played with (must read the manual!). If you need a people carrier on a budget, this is definitely a vehicle to consider. One warning - do NOT buy one without air conditioning. They heat up VERY quickly even in winter sunshine (think greenhouses...).

Good luck with No.3(will look forward to ops about have 3 small children?
