Great little runner - but like any ageing car has its problems (Ford Ka in general)

As a student this is the first car I have owned. It is an S-reg silver ford Ka2 with 80K miles on the clock, and has been a good little car.
As any young male I suppose you are looking for a smart-looking nippy car that looks the part.

The car itself has all that you need. The 1.3 engine doesnt lack power and you certainly can outpace most smaller cars of similar spec. It does well on the fuel consumption figures and generally does not require much maintenance. But beware like with all cars that get past a certain age problems can be incurred. Just had to spend £800 on a new radiator and fix all sorts of leaks that have sprung up.

Its not the most comfortable ride on long journeys, not helped by the rather cramped driving position. I am a 6 ft male and find that on a journey longer than half an hour my back starts aching.

I would definitely recommend buying one myself, for the money it costs you get a good little car, personally I think it is one of the best you can buy on the market. It is cheap for insurance purposes, in a low band, great for youngsters like myself! Look out for the higher spec Ka's - older models are rated 1, 2 or 3 - the 1 model are very basic lacking even central locking and electric windows, but nevertheless well made.

Summary: A great useful car for a young driver, fun to drive and cheap to run
