Advantages: Actually very good for tall people as small cars go, economical and fun to drive
Disadvantages: not a lot of space and not much fun sitting in the back
I bought my KA Luxury in 2006. It had one previous owner and was 2 years old at the time. I was very lucky in that I got it for a stupidly low price as the Luxery has some great extra features that makes the KA more of a viable option for long term use.
I wouldn't change this car for the world at the moment. My husband who is 6ft 4 can drive it comfortably (great when you consider it's size) and the fuel economy is great. I have been all over the UK including from Bristol to Sheffield and back and can honestly say that I have never had to fill the tank more than once to full on these trips. It currently costs around £30 to fill from just under a quarter full(when I normally top up).
The extras that the KA Luxury has are: air conditioning, leather seats, a button to recycle the air around the car so you can shut off the vents and any fumes outside, electric windows and remote locking. It seems like a lot to put on such a small basic car but I find that it has made the KA last a lot longer for me. Tax is around £145 currently. Insurance is in the lower brackets (dependent on the driver).
I couldn't afford to change this car at the moment and wouldn't want to even if I could. My husband loves driving it as he drive large vans and an audi for work and says it feels like a go cart. We are thinking of children in the next 5 years but I do wonder if I will want to get rid of the KA then. A couple we know still have theirs and a 7 month baby and say they manage fine. It does seem to be a bit of a tardis inside with the added advantage of a high roof - even better for tall people!
The only disadvantages I find are that the back seats are slippery and there is not a lot of space. I sit in the back when we have friends in the car as I am 5ft 4 so I fit! Anyone over that height may have more of an issue. Also sitting in the back makes me feel a bit sick as you get thrown around a lot.
The glove compartment is rubbish. It is completely unusable as is just a tiny cubby hole in the passenger side, but on the plus side this has left more space for a tall person's legs.
Overall I love my KA - I just don't like sitting in the back so that's not bad going for it's faults.
Summary: Great car - really don't want to part with it!
