Advantages: Smooth refinement

Having driven many small cars in my time my experience behind the wheel of the Ka 3 was astonishing. Although bug-like in appearance, the features crammed into such a small package are amazing. A CD player, air-con, power steering, alloys and a 1.3 fuel injected engine.

The seating is excellent. I am 6 foot 3 and had no trouble in the drivers seat. I had ample leg and head room and a superb view of the road. Although a snug fit in the back, and a bit claustrophobic, I still had enough room.

The engines performance was first rate. Smooth and refined, completely unheard of only 10 years ago, on a dinky car. The road holding was firm and precise, and the steering responsive. The whole ride is reassuring which is usually not the case with pocket size motors.

Having looked at more basic models of the Ka, I would recommend the Ka 3. It is well equipped and a great buy. Prices are coming down and it's not impossible to buy a good example 1998 model for £4-500.
