Advantages: pretty good spec

Disadvantages: rust, mpg, ford customer care

Our KA millenium edition (the yellow one)is 13 months old and already has had a new gearbox and the fuel consumption has dropped from 45+ mpg to 34 if we are lucky. Worst of all there is rust EVERYWHERE, on the door sills, behind the grille under the bonnet, on the tailgate ..... It has been into the bodyshop and all they have done is rub down and paint over - even missing half of the rust. I shudder to think what is going on under the paint work.
Absolute rubbish and we can't wait to give it back - Ford customer care is an absolute joke, we use the car for a business and they refuse to compensate us for loss of earnings even though the car is off the road through their shoddy workmanship.
If you have one - be vigilant.

I have a Ford KA Millenium, i have had the car since pretty much new (only 3000 on the clock). I would recommend a Ford KA to anyone for a little run around, easy to drive, low tax, cheap insurance, it's great on fuel, parts are cheap - i have only ever had parts changed like plugs etc, the stuff they change on your MOT. I have never had to change anything major on my car, it has never broke down or caused me any problems at all. The mechanics at the garages where i live say they are great too!. I love my car - i'm thinking of selling due to wanting/needing in the future a bigger family car but i just can't seem to part with it - i'm thinking it will be a mistake to part with my little banana car, it will be a sad day when / if it goes!! Please don't be put off, i think they are wonderful cars, the car is good on the motorways too, very econmical!

The KA SUCKS ! ! ! !

My mother has a Ford KA model '97. km 63.000. The first few years it was a great car BUT..........

Fi rst it had RUSTproblems.

Th en the braking fluid was leaking.

Now the camshaft is broken and this will cost about 1200£ to fix. If not: bye bye engine!!!!!

Ford admit that many KA has this error but as it first occurs at 40.000 to 60.000 km they will not pay for the repairs.

To new buyers: DO NOT BUY A FORD KA.

To already owners: Check the camshaft before the car is 3 years old. Or you will be stuck with this problem by youself.....
