Advantages: Ford service, good city round about
Disadvantages: sounds like my lawn mower, pedals too close, interior not to my taste
The Ford KA. It has received a lot of good and rave reviews. But this one is going to be different. I've driven one and quite frankly I did not have fun with it. I guess it would be alright for a female round about in town, but even then you could have bought a better car. This car is not for me. The engine really does get on my nerves. The same 1litre engine in other cars is more responsive and faster. The engine to me sounds like my lawn mower but worse. It is very annoying when your driving it and it sounds like this. I never had a problem with my Nissan Micra. The interior is definitely not to my taste. Its too small for one. Not enough compartments to put things in. And it looks to cutesy and girlie for me. The back is cramped and not very sizeable for 2 adults. The pedals I would say is a big problem and I'm not even a big person. I'm 5"10 and have size 9 feet. I found the Break and Accelerator pedals DANGEROUSLY close for my liking. I thought it was quite shocking how Ford could stick them so close together. I was worried at times when I was going to break that I would accidentally put my foot on the accelerator and that would have been disastrous. The same thing would go through my mind when I was accelerating. Also on the clutch side they didn’t have a footrest that I am accustomed to with my previous cars. It would make driving that little bit easier with the left foot. I had a rest for it. It gave it a place to go when not in use. Overall I would not recommend this car to many people at all. And definitely not to any of the males population. But I think it would be suitable for the woman just needing a simple round about town. She might not have the same pedal problems as I’ve had with this car.

- 21/06/01 How can you complain about the size inside? If you buy a small car, you can't complain that it is small, as that is what it is supposed to be! Alan |

- 15/06/01 "But I think it would be suitable for the woman just needing a simple round about town" - isn't this rather patronising? |

- 10/06/01 It does seem like a love or hate car to me though, a difficult one to consider since I've seen as many favoured reports as unfavoured ones, but I must admit I am used to a left 'footrest' as well! |
