Advantages: Good Value for money, Great Design, Excellent Fuel Consumption

Disadvantages: Not an ideal family vehicle, Doesn't come in more colours!!

When my old car finally conked I had no choice but to find something new. By chance, my local Ford Dealership were doing a special deal on a used Ka, so I went along to have a look.
I ended up buying the particular Ka as it has low mileage, one owner and was only 12 months old, and more importantly it was cheap. My view was that if it didn't turn out to be the car for me, I'd replace it and wouldn't have lost out much.

Two years later I've still got the same Ka and wouldn't dream of giving it up! I am a proud owner of the most basic model Ka, and it has been the best car I've owned/driven.

Fuel consumption is great. £25 - £30 fills the tank, and that lasts me about a month. I travel to and from work daily, do all the normal little lifestyle journeys, and have the odd occasional trip out.

In the two years I've owned it, I haven't had one single problem. No breakdowns. No bodywork problems. No problems at all.

Space-wise, I can understand why some people have complained about the lack of space in the rear of the car. However, it is not a family car, or a car for people who have constant rear-seat passengers. Common-sense when looking at the shape of the car would give that away!
But, for single people, elderly people, and for people who just want to get from A to B... space isn't a problem.

With regards to handling, I personally find that the car is very nippy. Power-steering on a car of this size gives the driver plenty of control, and makes driving fun!

The only regret I have about my Ka is that I didn't opt for a model with body-coloured bumpers. I love the shape and look of the vehicle, but I do think the "style" and "collection" models look great with their co-ordinated bumpers.

The interior of the car is adequate, even in the basic model. The seats are comfortable, even on long journeys; and the general smooth, circular
design is quite funky.

The last good point about Ka's is that they hold their value. I recently had a value estimation done, and my car has hardly lost anything off the original price.

I've read a lot of reviews that compare the Ka to the Focus. However, I feel that's a bit like comparing a Rover Metro to a Rover 45. They are different cars, aimed at different groups of people, with different purposes.
The Ka is a £5,000 car. It doesn't pretend to be a £10,000 car, therefore cannot be compared to one! The key to car performance is closely related to value-for-money. Does the vehicle offer the best it can for the price you paid?
In my opinion, my Ka has exceeded my expectations 10-fold.

Welcome to dooyoo with an excellent review. I have had my Ka2 for something like 20 months and agree with all you say.
