Advantages: Price, Size, Low Co2

Disadvantages: Image, Performance, Everyone has one

I've had the car since June and have so far travelled 5400 miles in it. I ordered new as a company car with the added extras of a 6006 CD player ( autochanger ) and a set of 18inch low profile tyres.

The car itself is good to look at. I like the rear lights which have a ferrari style to them at night. It isn't as dull to look at as the passats or vectras, but it doesn't have the image ( or price ) of a bmw or audi.

The inside is very spacious. I used to have a Golf GTI, and whilst I miss the kick in the rear of the turbo, I love the extra space, the driver and passengers get. It is larger and better packages inside than my old R reg Vectra and is similar in size to my brothers much more expensive passat.

My car is the Zetec trim and comes with AC and a natty silver dashboard and gearstick insert to mark it out from the lower spec LX.

The car handles very well, better than my old golf which came as a big surprise. I've enjoyed driving it about down the A roads near my home.

The performance is a little pedestrian compared to the golf as it is only a 1.8 engine. On the plus side, the CO2 emissions are low and I end up being better off having the 1.8 engine, than my old 1.8 turbo.

The optional CD changer is excellent as it is a front loading one. No more rummaging around the boot trying to eject the CD's.

The car has a feel of quality that is present in all VW's and was not present the last time I owned a Ford ( L reg ). I've been very pleased with the car todate, and I hope to buy it when the lease expires as in 3 years the price should have dropped from £15000 to £5000.

The car is strong on safety, it has heaps of airbag including rear passenger airbags.

In summary, I'd liken it to a can of Ronseal - " It Does Exactly what it says on the tin".

Its not spectacular, but it is a good sized familar car that is well built and cheao to own.

Although the Mondeo would not be my choice (only a personal thing) I do think that it is a nice looking car.
