Advantages: Great Looks, Easy To Get Parts , Reliable
Disadvantages: Not the Cheapest Of Cars To Buy Brand New!
***FORD MONDEO***
Well where can I start? Undoubtedly the Ford Mondeo offers style, size and quality. It has been top of it's class for many years now and has not yet been knocked of the podium. That's quite impressive. 350,000 Mondeos were sold in the UK last year.
The Mondeo is a well known family car, it has definitely made it's mark in the motoring world. If you mentioned the name Ford Mondeo to anyone in any European country I'm pretty sure they will know what you're on about.
We had a Ford Mondeo for almost 3 years, it was an R reg and had done 90,000 miles. Up until we bought our new car it was still very healthy for it‘s age. If the car was a Daihatsu or a North Korean produced car it would of been scrapped years ago. The Mondeo was reliable and never broke down, it really does have a 5 star rating for reliability and build quality. But what would you expect from probably the best car company in the world of motoring.
***INTERIOR***
The interior on our car and nearly every model which I have seen has never been poor quality. Wood trims with leather seats are great in the Mondeo and offers a luxurious ride in a car. The seats are very comfortable on standard models especially when you are able to adjust the driver’s seat angle, they offer great comfort, especially on long journeys. The interior really does give the feeling of cosiness and does not let you down. You also have the very nice leather steering wheel as standard which is comfortable to use. These days. the standard sound system from Ford is OK in some cases but sometimes not. You can get nice sound out of the speakers on some models but on the lower range models the speakers aren’t great which when you turn the bass up rattle and vibrate. But this can all change, there are many CD and Cassettes players on offer by Ford to make music fun in the Mondeo. I have nothing against the Mondeo’s interior as it is almost perfect - apart from the speakers. But who said a great car had to have decent speakers.... unless of course you’re a boy racer - no offence guys.
***MECHANICAL***
Looking at the engine, the 2.0 16v model is the best engine in my view. If you don’t believe me have a look under the bonnet of one or even test drive it! You’ll know what I mean, It doesn’t even feel like a 2.0, it feels bigger, more like a 3.0. I hate to think how powerful the 2.5 v6 is! The great thing about Fords are that they are very easy to by parts for, therefore cheaper insurance.
The Mondeo cruises around corners effortlessly - and so it should do. If you want even more power you’ve got the 2.5 v6 engine that I mentioned, it is a famous engine in the motor racing world. Now when you buy from Ford they tend to put nice new tyres on em. But they’re not that nice as they are if not all Budget tyres, I don’t recommend them. The Budget tyres increased noise in the cabin and the dash board tended to vibrate so much it was unbelievable. It made such a noisy ride. After buying Michelins the problems were solved and it was a dream to ride in. After having older cars before hand which made so much noise this was incredibly quiet.

***INFO***
If you want to see more go to www.ford.co.uk and build your own dream Mondeo (new style). Add all the luxuries you want and then click buy! You save £1k buying online, so it is definitely worth it. What would you rather do, Put £1k in a lazy dealer’s pocket or put it in your own? I know what I would do! Prices start from around £14,000 and 2 years free warantee is as standard depending on which model you choose. I think many Mondeo drivers will agree with me, the Ford Mondeo is worth every penny you pay for it.
If you don't want to buy brand new and like the older style, why not buy your local Auto trader or like we did, check out your nearest Ford Dealer's Forecourt for 2nd hand cars.
Well I think Ford have gone a very long way with the new Mondeo, The new look Mondeo is looking very nice and the ST220 is excellent. I can’t complain, Ford are undoubtedly great at making cars.
