Currently driving a 1.8TD Ghia model. It has electric sunroof, mirrors, heated front and rear screens, electric seats A/c and enough to keep you busy. But thats only superficial stuff because it adds nothing to the driving experience. I always feel the Diesel engine hard work to drive when its cold, tough to engage in gear and struggles ... I bought my 99 V6 2.5l 24v Mondeo Ghia X a few months ago as a runabout for work and it has been excellent. I have had a few Fords and this one doesnt disappoint! The mpg averages around 28mpg (motorway driving) which isnt great but it is a 2.5 v6l! I've got full leather, heated seats, electric everything, traction control, ... Read the complete review

***FORD MONDEO*** Well where can I start? Undoubtedly the Ford Mondeo offers style, size and quality. It has been top of it's class for many years now and has not yet been knocked of the podium. That's quite impressive. 350,000 Mondeos were sold in the UK last year. The Mondeo is a well known family car, it has definitely ... Read the complete review

As I have mentioned in earlier opinions, the Ford has a special place in my repertoire of Motorised Horseless Carriages. Having driven every model of Ford, manufactured and sold for the UK market, in the last 5 years, I feel I have an understanding of the product slightly higher than average. Therefore, when starting my own ... Read the complete review

An opinion on the ford mondeo 2.0 Giha X Auto My Farther and his partner have run a 1997 R reg mondeo gihaX estate 2.0 automatic for over a year now and are thrilled to bits with it. They owned an early mondeo ultima(94m-reg) some 4 years ago now and have had two cars between that and this one, both of which were BMW's. The ... Read the complete review

We had been driving around a 1987 Ford Fiesta for the last 9 years and so we decided at long last to buy a new (used) car. We wanted another Ford because in our experience they are so cheap to fix when anything goes wrong. We started looking originally at the Ford Escort, but my husband was of the opinion that these cars were a bit dated. We also ... Read the complete review

Looking to win friends and influence people? Nope? Well why not consider a used Mondeo? Lets face it, at 19-Grand when new, a less than 2 years old “Ghia” with all the toys you’ll ever need, could be yours for only 6 and a half - tops! But will you still be smiling into your illuminated vanity mirror with a years worth ... Read the complete review

If variety is the spice of life I’m stuck with a dry piece of bread when it comes to cars. I currently drive a selection of five vehicles, one of which is a Fiat Tipo Diesel (So you can imagine how exciting that is!) and the other four are Mondeos. I own a 2000 model 2-litre Zetec five door bought with my own cash, not a company deal, so I ... Read the complete review

Okay I agree, the new Mondeo ain't half bad. It's a nice machine, and looks to have the kind of quality not usually associated with that of a FORD. We have seen Mondeos in the past as plasticy heaps of ****, but now they look, unless they just look, to be a good contender in the top of the family car market. I do not however think that if ... The Ford Mondeo is getting on a bit now and will be replaced very soon. The Mondeo is well known for helping Ford when it was in some difficulty, as it was a revolutionary design to replace the revolutionary Sierra. The Mondeo brought the expensive modern luxuries of expensive cars to a price affordable to all and seen in all cars today. The new ... Read the complete review

I'm in the motor trade and have driven many cars and the Mondeo is a good car. If purchasing one be careful that it hasn't been a mini-cab all it's life, especially if buying a Turbo Diesel, by checking for no-smoking stickers on the dash board, heavy wear and tear on the upholstery and mega mileages. I have known Mondeos to ... Read the complete review

I know Ford Mondeos are driven by those who have company cars, and they may be looked upon as being mundane because there are so many around. But when you look at what they offer, how they perform and what they are like to drive you just have to admit they are not at all bad. Driving a good number of miles a year in mine, it has never let me down, ... Read the complete review

Question -should I expect a diesel engine to last more than 90000 miles? I have had my mondeo 1.8dlx since September 1995. Until this time last year I would have said that it was a great car. I had done over 90,000 miles with no problem. The car was service regularly at a main dealer - in fact only the main dealer ever touched it. ... Read the complete review

Well I've been driving my Mondeo for two years and in that time i have driven 70,000 miles, so I think I can say from a point of experience, that it is one of the comfiest cars i have had the pleasure of driving, both on and off motorway. I have a 2.0l GLX, and it handles well, fuel consumption is good, it cruises at, well shall we say I'm ... Read the complete review

Having been forced to drive Fords (company cars) I have quite a lot of experience of them. In fact the Mondeo petrol was a dream in comparison to the old Ford Sierra (yuk) which did not hold the road well. The Mondeo corners on country lanes beautifully and has most of the 'extras' well-sorted. In fact, the airconditioning is one of the ... Read the complete review

The Ford Mondeo in it's latest form is actually quite well sorted. It is well equipped with air con etc., The drive is good and the 2 litre that I always get as a hire car is reasonable fast, although not neck breaking. It handles OK, but what out on Motorways, concentration is needed to avoid drifting. Looks are good with ... Read the complete review
