I am lucky enough to have driven one of the few original Ford Mustangs in Britain. The Mustang is a classic American muscle car, it's power is simply outrageous, and it looks stunning. The modern car is nothing like the classic, none of the aggressive looks of the original can be seen in the design of the modern Ford. The car I drove was red/white with a huge central cooling air intake vent on the front bonnet. Inside black leather and just about everything is chrome. My husband purchased a new 2000 For Mustang. with in several weeks he started hearing a noise coming from the back end of the car. We thought it might be a wheel problems. He took it into the shop for repairs. The service department where he bought the car told us it was the pinion gear. The fixed the car. At least we thought they did. When the noise was still there we were told that we needed to drive the car for 500 miles to break in the new parts. I thought this strange because a new car does not have 500 miles on it when you buy it. However we did. The noise did not go away.
