Advantages: great handling and gearbox

Disadvantages: lots of repair bills because of their age

I bought my 2000 W reg Puma in April 2008. After a 10 minute test drive I was hooked on the superb gearbox and handling like a go kart. Unfortunately as with most cars that are edging towards 10 years old it is not without it's problems.

Firstly the 1.4 engine struggles with a car load, regretting not going for a 1.7 (although it can be tricky to get people in the back as they have to be less than 5ft7inches or their head hits the roof). Rust has just started to bubble around the wheel arches. The interior door cards have worked loose. The entire exhaust will need replacing shortly. The blind spots are a nightmare! Front brakes wear quickly. The leather steering wheel has started to wear away.

Although it's fun to drive, has a variable timing belt for higher revs at low speeds and lower revs at high speeds it's faults seriously let the car down.

Summary: a good car if you can afford it
