A rugged yet stylish 4WD (Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4WD)
Member Name: actionlaura
Advantages: Stylish, comfortable, practical, good drive Disadvantages: expensive fuel and road tax The model I have is a Grand cherokee Overland 3.0 CRD. I purchased it in 2007 (its a 57 plate). I had upgraded somewhat as my previous car was a peugeot 206 but having 2 small children and an Irish Setter I needed some more space! On the outside it is very pleasing to the eye, this model has returned to the more boxey style which looks strong but stylish. As I chose the Overland alloys come as standard but thats about it. The rear spoiler, kick plates and running boards had to be purchased seperately which wasnt cheap. I also opted for superguard paint protection to the tune of approx £200 but keeps it looking shiny and you get a wash kit with specialist shampoo's etc. Inside it comes with built in sat nav which has now been updated on the newer models. On mine you cant enter postcodes, only street addresses which poses some issues! The interior leather and walnut trim is smart and easy to keep clean. I opted for VES/DVD for the kids which was expensive but well worth it on long journeys! I have found though that any expense has been well worth it, it is a brilliant 4X4 to drive and handles well on the road aswell as in more unsavoury conditions. Snow and ice do not pose much of a problem which is a bonus as I live at the bottom of a very steep lane. Low 4WD is helpful in this situation as it is in mud aswell. It accelerates well for a big car and is easy to manouvre and park thanks to the large mirrors, front and rear sensors and rear parking camera. It also has a massive boot. It tows a large caravan with ease and has a decent steering lock for a big car. I would recommend to anyone. On the downside the car tax is currently £400 per year!! and tyres etc are expensive. Currently as fuel is expensive it costs approx £75.00 a tank as opposed to £50.00 when I bought it. Overall a great 4WD!! Summary: A great family 4WD able to handle most situations
