Advantages: Small, compact and very nippy

Disadvantages: Small back seat and small boot

I have owned both a Silver 1992 Honda CRX VTEC and a Red 1990 CRX 16v.
Cosmetically the only difference was the front end. The Vtec models were treated to updated longer lights. It did make it more difficult to get after market body kits, as the manufacturers tended to aim for the earlier shape which had more cars built.
As standard the 16v has cloth interior, alloy wheels and a 130 bhp engine. Engine code D16a. This was good for 0-60 in around 9 seconds. Whereas the Vtec with the B16a engine is 160 BHP and good for 0-60 in 8 seconds. It came with updated 'better' alloy wheels and leather interior.
There is only one difference in the driving. The 16v revs up to about 6000 rpm with a nice power curve. The Vtec tops at 8200 rpm! There is a second boost of power at 4500 rpm!
If anyone had to choose over the 2, you would buy the vtec every time.
Although I loved both!

Summary: Great little sports hatch that will wipe the smile off most modern hatches
