Advantages: Reliable, easy to drive, economical
Disadvantages: Not very good on motorways
I bought my Honda Jazz nearly 3 years ago and it's the best car I've ever owned. I went for the 1.4 sport automatic in silver. It's pretty cheap to own and maintain if you don't take it to the dealers for the service as they charge around £250 each service and more if it needs a 'Big' service, about every three years. It's really good on fuel consumption I get around 48mpg in mine around town, slightly less on the motorway but the manual is supposed to do slightly more mpg. It's in a low tax band, it costs £120 a year for mine, and not sure what band that is, think its D. It's also cheap to insure as it's in insurance group 3 or 4.
It's really easy to drive, and pretty nippy around town. A little less pleasurable on the motor way as it isn't really very fast so it can be a little scary at times if you need to accelerate quickly out of the way. If you're looking for a reliable small car, to drive around town it's perfect. I find it easy to park because if its size, and the handling is really good.
As a small family car it's also really brilliant, you can easily fit 3 in the back and the boot is enormous for a car of its size. It has magic seats which fold away in loads of different positions to allow for loading of almost anything including a bike! It's also incredibly roomy in the front and the seats adjust in height also which is really helpful is your short and can't see over the wheel like me. It has an in built mp3 port to plug your player into and has the stereo controls on the wheel. It also has paddles on the wheel if you want to use the cvt option; this is basically when you can move up and down through the gears using the paddles on the wheel yourself. You don't have a clutch so it does that for you, it's supposed to be for going round country lanes so you can hold it in gear longer making it faster around all the bends without going up and down gears constantly. I haven't used this really as it has 7 gears to choose from and I still haven't got the hang of it, luckily the car will override you to prevent it from braking, thank goodness! It moves it up and down through the gears for you if you're not in the appropriate gear. My sister had a drive in it using the paddles and absolutely loved the handing around the country lanes, she did use the semi auto cvt paddle options and found it really fun.
Summary: A good car if your using it mainly around towns or cities, easy to park and steer.
