I Owned a 1984 Honda Prelude EX, it had the 1.8l 12v engine with the 4 speed automatic gearbox.
It was a very reliable car, it had just 86,000 miles on the clock and drove like new, I only had two problems with it, which are typical of the 2nd and 3rd generation.
The first was the Brakes, the master cylinder has a tendancy to leak from the rear, this was a cheap fix, with a master cylinder rebuild kit! and the other fault with these Preludes is rust at the front of the rear wheel arches / Inner wing area, I managed to get this welded by my Father, so, did not cost a thing, but shouldn't cost too much to get a bodyshop to do. But apart from these two faults, it was the most reliable car I ever owned! I now own a 1990 model and it isn't half as good!
