Advantages: Great Headroom, Cheap, Cheap to maintain
Disadvantages: Ugly.
My girlfriend drives one of these cars, so I am in one a lot and hear a lot about it, but I'd like to clearly point out that I don't actually drive the atoz, so this review is basically third party experience. I trust that you will find it useful none the less.
The most unusual thing about the atoz is probably its shape, some people like it, but I think most people agree with is quite hideous. I would actually say that whilst from the back, the car does look very flat, fat and ugly, the enlarged vertical nature of the shape does have advantages. When you are actually inside the Atoz, the head room is fantastic and coupled with the simple metal bar gear stick, it's more like sitting in a minibus.
Trying to make the atoz go fast is often a problem, and when you enter a national speedlimit duel carriage way with lots of traffic, even by flooring it, it takes a long time for the car to reach the speed limit, relative to the other cars around you. My GF often puts the car into third gear for this acceleration, as apparently, it accelerates quickest and smoothest this way.
The atoz is cheap to tax and cheap to insure, but whilst most people claim it is fuel efficient, my GF is ALWAYS complaining about it guzzling petrol - so I'll let someone else be the judge.
Overall I'd say that for the small amount of money it takes to buy one, certainly a second hand one, this is quite a good, cheap little car to run and it's nice to have the extra spece inside.
Summary: Definately a good choice for those on a budget, including first time buyers.
