Advantages: Roomy, Smooth ride, Low noise
Disadvantages: Heavy on fuel
I have had my K reg XJ6 since April 2000. I was unsure when I purchased it whether I was being foolish, buying a lot of trouble and a gas guzzling monster. Obviously purchases now are second hand as this model is no longer manufactured. The car I purchased had 128000 miles on the clock but I was assured that for a car of this quality that it was barely run in! 15 Months later I am pleased to report a trouble free motoring history, a replacement llambda sensor on the exhaust system being the only unexpected cost incurred, around £150 fitted. I get 23 mpg which is not too bad as I dont have a high mileage and comp ins for £320, full no claims discount. The car is a pleasure to drive and still looks good. I had the choice of a 4/5 year old bog std car or a timeless classic. I am really pleased with my choice. Upate : This years service and MOT bill totalled £550, two new shocks, some welding to subframe, replacement fuse for windsreen wipers, new tyre. Hopefully that's me for another year, which is not bad in my opinion.

- 05/07/01 It has been said below. They are great cars and it is good to know that you have had so few problems.
Please try and give updates.

- 04/07/01 Welcome to Dooyoo. I thought this was a good first opinion especially in comparison to some peoples efforts. You could make it more helpful by adding more detail about the car as Andrew pointed out. Enjoy Dooyoo - Anna :) |
