KatiePuckrik Jaguar X-type in general: ... re brash, loud cars with almost no refinement or class about it. Most of the drivers behind the wheel seem to want to bully anyone off the road and they aren t even that reliable (in comparision to say, a Lexus). In fact, why would you buy a BMW, when you can have a Jaguar X-Type? A friend of mine bought one recently and I had to test drive it. I m so glad I did. The ride was smooth, the handling was beautiful an...

I use the car for work (Sales throughout the UK and some Europe) and have now covered 90k+ Throughout it s life it has had 3 ABS faults, two of those faults were the ABS rings (£1200 to replace by Jaguar or £180 by my Jaguar specialist garage) The other ABS fault was an abs sensor (£34) So in total it has cost me £400 which isn t bad for 90k miles? It still looks the business and can potter around town getting near 30mpg and when needed i can let the cat free (getting ne...

... large vehicles. Don’t get me wrong; there are dozens of lovely, economical, and stylish wee cars on the market these days, many of which I have thoroughly enjoyed driving, and which make ideal family cars. He was what in those days would be called a “gentleman farmer”, and used to change his Jaguar for a new model every January 1st, (nice if you can afford it!) so I was privileged enough to be ferried around in some really classy m...

... had booked a Renault Laguna 1.8 from the local Hertz branch for a trip from Brighton to Bradford and back. Half an hour after the car was due to be dropped off I received an apologetic call - the car has broken down en route to you so we are sending a replacement. All they had available (at no extra cost) was a new Jaguar X-Type 2.0SE Auto. Well I was certainly impressed when I saw it parked there. Nice alloy wheels, dark green metallic paint, cream leather - this car certainly fits the bill looks-wise and badge-wise if it's a compact exec' your after. However, as I was to find in the next 700 miles or so, the experience behind the wheel is its undoing... ...
