Bought a 2001 2,5 TD Cherokee Sport not knowing what to expect. Closed my eyes and did the deal. It had 192000 km on the clock and I was warned about fuel costs , expensive repairs , etc by a few people. None of them ever owned a Jeep so their opinions were discarded. In 2 years the belt pulley broke and cost me R2900.00 to repair. (AGENTS WOULD HAVE COST R10000.00). This is the most enjoyable and reliable wheels I've ever owned. Fuel consumption of almost 13kms / litre is brilliant. It is a no nonsense , tough and brilliant vehicle. I now understand the cliche "It's a Jeep thing". Then again unless you own one you will never know.

Boot space is quite good, but the spare wheel in the back takes up a lot of space, mounted spare on the door would have been better, but the door opens upwards. ... Read the complete review

i own a 2001 cherokee orvis .the car is very well built and totally reliable.. big and roomy yet retaining a sence of car feel about it. easy to park thanks to a good power steering set up and excellent all round vision. mine has every extra and is in mint condition having been dealer maintained all its life. the ride is good to firm and corners well without wallowing, the interior is well kitted out and comes with a alpine hifi and mission speakers as standard. iv been through deep water and mud and snow, it keeps going and never lets me down. the big scorpian pirellis are sure footed and the engine, being diesel is clean economical and very reliable, although it is ...
