Advantages: Comfortable, easy to drive
Disadvantages: Dreadful petrol usage
After having an 2002 Renault Clio I decided to buy new 5dr Picanto because of the huge increase in petrol costs and good mpg claimed by Kia. I found that it was only 34 including several trips on the motorway, and that was less than the Clio. I would not buy another if it was to mislead like this, and after owning it for 6 weeks I am distinctly feeling like I should take it back. At this point all the other factors apart from a bust key, have run as expected and I have nothing else to complain about. If you are going to buy one of these make it clear to the salesman that you will not accept misleading petrol usage and tell him that you will demand a change if it is crummy. The lack of rubber lines on the side of the car to avoid damage from others opening their doors may be popular but must represent a risk.
Summary: Claimed MPG is misleading
