Advantages: Brilliant looks, affordable price, Performs off road well

Disadvantages: Fuel Economy, slight whistelling windows

Our family recently purchased a kia sportage this year. And we have found this to be the best buy for any 4wd vehicle there is. If you look in shops for a cheaper good standard 4wd car it will be hard to find.

Engine
This car, as all sportages comes with a 2.0 litre engine which is built to cope with the toughest of terranes and gives plenty of power and thrust when needed. However only reaches a top speed of around 105mph. It is also a thirsty beast covering around 25mpg on average roads.

INTERIOR
With our sportage we bought leather seats which are extremely comfortable, we got these as we have a dog which does tend to make seats dirty, but with leather it is easy to wipe clean. The dashboard is extremely streamline with plenty of stoage space and legroom. which is suprising as it is shorter than the likes of a freelander jeep. It can easily hold 5 people with comfort.

OFFROAD
Offroad this is a beauty. We have took this car everywhere..flooded areas, marshland, hills, and through deep mud, and it has pulled us out of everything. Mostly without the need of going into 4 wheel drive! Even if the car does get stuck in DEEP DEEP mus it has a four wheel "LOW" option where the car moves sort of like a tank on tracks pulling you out of almost anything.(we have never had to use this yet)

ANY PROBLEMS?
one problem with this car that we have had is whistling front windows, where when you are travelling at speed you can hear a faint whistling noise from the window. We contacted our dealer an he said that it is a common problem witht he car but was easilly fixed when they filled the window seals with silicon jelly.(you would think they would do this before it is sold to you)
However no other problems with the car yet.

OVERALL- a brilliant car to own if you can afford to keep filling up the tank with good exterior and interior looks. certainly a car to be reckoned with at an affordable price!!

Price should be only one of the considerations when buying a vehicle. Did you try a Honda CRX/CRV, a Freelander, or a RAV4 ? Even a nearly-new one-of-them could be a better buy in the long run.

Welcome to dooyoo. I miss leather seats for the dogs. :-)
