Despite reading Spiros's review of the Lancia Delta HF Turbo, I decided to buy one. It was the day England beat Argentina and I was going to look at a HF Turbo at £1995- H reg with 86000miles. When I arrived at Walkers ( UK Integale Specialists ), it had gone! But, they had taken delivery of an E reg the night before. The car was filthy! Covered in dust, bird droppings etc. ! I've had a couple of Lancias, either owned or borrowed long-term, so I'm going to do a quick mini-review on each, (in no particular order): Lancia Y10 Fire - Can be noisy, especially at speed. Handling good to very good, subject to side winds. Quite economical with low fuel and insurance costs. Cabin light and airy, better designed than baby Fiats of same vintage, bit cheap looking. Boot good for size of car. Some electrical problems. Rust proofing poor. Service costs not bad. Summary: Great in the urban setting - not so good elsewhere. I needed a second car to play around. I wanted it to be fast ,relatively good looking and cheap. It is quite difficult to find a car with that kind of features and a low price tag ... except if it's old. I loved the looks of Lancias for many years now; from the time i watched Integralies swiping off the championships i wanted one. An Integrale is quite expensive to buy so i dropped one class down .. HF turbo 1.6 . These cars becoming rare very fast so it was a bit difficult to find one. I bought a 90' car with 86k on the clock , 4th owner, Grally bumper, quad lights and rear wing.
