I was looking for a Defender column and could not find one, then I read Timmy's John Deere comment, and found a Landy one lying in there somewhere too. I am also a fan of the greatest off-roader ever, right from the start it was a winner, and lets face it, it hasn't changed much has it? I do not agree that there is room for 3 in the front, unless you are all dwarfs! The pay-load of 4000kg cannot be beaten even by the likes of the Landcruiser Amazon, and the V8 is a beast untamed that I wan't in my garage. There is a V6 2.8 in Some countries, which has a 0-62 of 9.2 seconds, this is nice, but not as good as the V8. The new 2.5 Td 5 cylinder is also excellent, and powerful, yet economical.
If you want a new farm animal, with more teeth than a Lion, buy a defender, but is the pick-up 130ins not a better choice for a farm?
