Advantages: Space, comfort, reliability, the feeling
Disadvantages: insurance
During the last 20 years I had all sorts of cars; Opel GT, Audi 80 and 100, Mitsubishi, Volkswagen, Porsche 111...(I had a rich boyfriend once, you see...), but I never dreamt of driving a Landrover. I came to England some 4 years ago and a friend of mine introduced me to his Landrover. Hmm, quite comfy, I thought...but nothing for me. This friend offered me his landrover for a good price a while later. I was in need of a new car anyway, so I bought it. The first driving-hour was weird. The Landrover Discovery TDI sounded like a truck and felt somehow different. I was a bit frightened to be honest. But after one hour I was hooked. I love it! It's the best driving-experience ever! You feel so secure in it. No back-ache anymore, plenty of space for hubby, mum-in-law and dog, no claustrophobic feelings on long tours... I never understood why somebody loves his car. But believe me, it's possible! I'm in love with my Landrover. Okay, insurance and Diesel aren't cheap, but it never is... My beast is 10 years old now and I have it since 2 years. It drives, and drives, and drives. No problems in the coldest winter, no problems when I didn't drive it for a while, no problems at all. Wonderful quality, wonderful driving-experience. Well done England! By the way, did I mention the off-road experience...? Uuuaahh, I love it!

- 08/04/02 Nearly two years now since I've written about my Landrover.....and sadly we have to part next Wednesday. She's getting too old and her body is getting frail(a bit like mine) and I just can't afford her anymore. But her motor is still top, after 170.000 miles! I'm exchanging her for a younger model (I hope hubby doesn't do this with me one day), but she will be sadly missed. Yes, I'm still in love with my Landrover and I feel very very sad if I think of Wednesday... :( |

- 28/06/00 But fuel is not so expensive, isn't it? |

- 28/06/00 There's nothing quite like an offroad experience, is there? I agree, I too am a huge Discovery fan. The problem in Germany is that you have to wait 6 months before they are delivered. |
