Advantages: Sturdy, Safe, Reliable, Spacious Family car

Disadvantages: Not so easy to clean when you are only 5'' 2!

One of the best cars I have had! Having had a nasty accident in my Renault Clio, where a horrible man in a Nissan Navarra pick up drove into the side of me, having jumped a red light! We decided to get a car that was sturdier and offered more protection for us and our family. The accident was a scary experience and even scarier was the thought that my young 10 month old could have been in the car too, in his car seat, on the side of the impact! Just doesn't bear thinking about!
Being a farmers daughter I have always loved 4x4 vehicles. I would ideally love to have a Range Rover but unfortunately cannot afford the price tag that they come with. But we tried the Freelander instead. initially I had the original Freelander, then when the Freelander II was launched we decided to upgrade.

It is a truely magnificent car. So comfortable to drive. The cruise control is great for long journeys, really reduces the tiredness - believe it or not!
We upgraded to leather seats - which I have to say are a MUST when you have young children. As they still look as new now as the day I had it delivered! Despite being climbed on, spilt drinks, food etc.
I got the automatic too as I was suffering with whip lash injuries from above mentioned car incident! The automatic is a great drive, especially in built up areas / Towns when you have children squawking from the back. Altogether a more relaxing drive. The parking sensors are very good as it is an extra security feature when parking among these imbecils that cannot park!
The other must is the tinted windows, which I have to say are a god send with young ones. As those portable blinds are always in the wrong postion for the sun and ends up blinding your poor offspring. They really help to keep the car cooler too!
We got the Diesel version, which used to be cheaper to fill up than the petrol version, but with the fuel prices as they are its another story!
I really like my car and definitely feel so much safer in it with my children!

Summary: A great family car, Sturdy, Safe, Reliable, Spacious Family car
