 ... very impressed. This car drives like a dream, despite the miles it has never let me down, it is roomy and spacious and has a decent sized boot space compared with the 3 door version. Fuel consumption wise it is fine and I get as many miles to this as I do my Audi A3, although I wouldn't touch the petrol version with a barge pole. Insurance wise it isn't expensive and even the tyres only cost me £80 each when they needed replacing, it isn't as nippy as a normal car but I love it all the same....more

Love this car, I have owened this second hand for the last 18 months and bought it with 97k miles on the clock. Having never owned one of these before I did wonder how heavy they would be on diesel and if it would be sluggish to drive but I am very impressed. 18 months a go we bought one of these on a year 2000 w plate. It had covered 87000 miles at the time. Since then we have covered a further 18000 miles with very few problems to report. We go camping a great deal and also have a large dog who we like to take off with us when we go camping or just for a days walking so after considering our options we went for the Freelander. It gave us the ability to use its generous load capacity and also to help us get out of typically wet camp sites that we always seem to end up on.
