Advantages: Engine, Comfort, reliability, security, lots
Disadvantages: Nothing much, no cruise control on manual
I am just changing jobs and have spent too much time looking for a new company car(Nice Dilema to be in!) My current car has been a Vauxhall Vectra 2.0DTI yes as diesel! With a budget of £25000 and being bored of driving family cars I fancied a change and have looked at a number of different cars. I finaly have chosen the IS 200 from Lexus. It looks great, it has every creature comfort apart from cruise control(available on auto only) and has the sweetest sounding engine. I test drove this as well as BMW 323 and a Alfa 156 2.0. They are all great cars, I was worried about the Alfa's reliabilty and resale value. The BMW was very basic and I found it heavy to drive. The Lexus is a dream to drive, the engine accelerates well on motorways and roars as you take the revs over 4500rpm. The Variable valve timing comes into play and really opens it up. Handling is good reliablity is excelent as far as I can research and security is first class. If I wanted to find a problem with this car it would be a timy thing. Firstly, I like to lounge on long journeys and although it is really comfortable, there is no central arm rest. I can't wait to take delivery and start enjoying driving once more!
