Advantages: Quick, very quick and you get noticed.
Disadvantages: Bad reverse, can't leave it anywhere, small rear seats with little/no leg room.
My friend owns a right hand drive Shamal - you may of seen it as it is used in magazines and car related books and motor shows. Apparently only about 64 of these Shamals were made and of course by now some of them have been written off etc. But not this one. My friend bought his from new and has so far amassed about 16k miles and is kept in perfect condition. I personally haven't driven the car but I have been driven about in it several times. Firstly the performance is 2nd to none. 0-60 is approx. 5.5 seconds with a top speed of around 175mph. The car does come into it's own after the 100mph speed after which is will just keep on accelerating with no hesitation. Stand outside the car and you'll hear the engine purr at idle or swoosh past you at 100mph. The car does have a high quality interior with automatic climate control, leather all round with seude door panels, electric windows. However, there are a few problems - the electric windows don't always work properly and sometimes requires the air conditioning to be turned off for the windows to go back up. Reverse - the Shamal hates this, it only likes going forwards at high speeds. Rear passengers - yes there are rear seats and seat bealts but unless your a 4 year old I'd forget it due to the lack of leg room! The boot isn't too bad and can fit your weekly shopping in there. That being said the car is an Italian supercar, not designed for comfort or praticallity, just speed and posing.

MrPopeye - 28/08/01 Is it a coincidence that the Dooyoo crown logo looks a lot like Maserati's insignia? |
