Mazda 626 (1992-97)

What a backward step has Mazda taken with this car. Compared to the previous model, it looks drab, handles rubbish and generally makes you feel sick. Mazda have obviously thought this car will appeal to more people and hence they will sell more cars. It is now much more practical i.e. you sit higher, there is more boot space etc., If you can get hold of one of the older 323F's then I would recommend you choose one instead. Looking for a cool second hand car? You could do a lot worse than getting a 626. I owned a 95 626 glx auto for a couple of years and found it to be an excellent car all round. The 2 ltr engine was both powerfull and quiet, and the 4 forward gear auto sports box made driving it all the more fun. Accelleration was pretty good for a large car and the driving position was very comfortable. It had all the toys,( electric just about everything,air conditioning etc), you virtually just pointed it in the direction you were going and that was that.
